I would close for the rest of the week, just to teach them a lesson! It is completely unacceptable to be unreachable and these parents would getting a stern warning about it. I really hope you can get ahold of them and that you feel better quickly.

Good news- my head is no longer spinning or feeling like its going to float away.

But my dcg did fall asleep on my sofa when I was making lunch. She usually fights sleep at quiet time, so this is not like her. It would not surprise me if she is coming down with the cold as well.

What a way to start off my new business.

They are with an agency so if i close I don't get paid. but if I am still bad by 12pm tomorrow I will close on friday too.

I got ahold of the dad. He was in a meeting all morning and the mom is in school. He said he will try to get off work early, but had a meeting he could not miss. I am feeling a little better now that my head isn't going to float away. But I did ask him to call around to see if their was anyone who could come and get her.
I have also called my adviser and told her. She is going to see if she can find a replacement provider for them tomorrow. I would love to tell the dad to get his F*#KING *SS here now, but I can't afford to loose them at this time.

What a shitty thing to do to someone. Especially your daycare provider. When are parents going to learn to start treating their providers like GOLD. What an especially shitty thing to do to their daughter. What if it had been an emergency for the child. Where the heck are the parents? Why isn't anyone answering their phones? I'm sorry but I was in a very hectic, stressful management position prior to starting my daycare...and you can be damned sure..come hell or high water...important business meeting or not....my phone was ALWAYS on me. I'd have it on vibrate if I was in a meeting, but I ALWAYS wanted to be available should my provider call me when my (one child then) was in care!

I'm glad to hear you are feeling better. Take a day off tomorrow and recoup. You will need it.

end of day update- The dad showed up 10 hole mins early. I informed him that his daughter seemed a little quieter today, and had a 2 hour nap (usually only 1 hour, I will not wake up a child unless there is a fire) and that I though she might be coming down with my cold. He did not seem happy.
I asked if he your adviser had been able to find him care for tomorrow. He didn't even call her, said he would figure something out. Well at lest I can say I tried to help him out.

I am feel a little better, but I am ever glad I am closing tomorrow. After dinner we are sitting at the table, I turn to look at my oldest son and he throw up all over the table and himself. My sweet husband cleaned it all up and put him in a nice warm bath. The funny thing is after my son throw up he said "I'm fine, I'm fine". He seems to be going okay now. We will take tomorrow to rest.

I'm glad you are able to close tomorrow. I think you saw a reason today NOT to be with an agency. Just saying! I have 3 paid personal days in my contract so that if I get sick I can close and still be paid so my budget isn't thrown off.

I would much perfer not to be with an agency, but 98% of the inquires I get for my daycare, are looking for subsidy spots and the 2% that are looking for private care want me to give them a discount. I am already charging $35/day. Most of the daycare's in my area are $40/$45 per day, with some as high as $60 or as low as $20. I will not go lower then $35/day.
All the clients I have right now are through one of my agencies.
