Euphoric !
Oh sucks that is the reason for your extended rest ~ but agree it is natural to be a wee bit grateful for an extra day!
Children construct their own intelligence. The adult must provide activities and context, but most of all must be able to listen. Children need proof that adults believe in them. Their three great desires are to be listened to, to understand, and to demonstrate that they are exactly what we expect."

I love surprise days! I'm glad you're feeling better. I'm sorry the little one is sick. But it happens. I'm happy that it's happened on a day when you have the chance to keep resting. Enjoy the nice long weekend.

Well, if they had been available that day you were sick and answered their phone and picked up their child they could have saved her from the pain of being sick and probably spending this weekend being sick themselves.
By the way, did you give them quite a lecture about not answering their phones and do you have a system in place now so that never happens again I hope?

I didn't lecture him, just said that from now on he had to make sure that during meeting and at all times, his cell phone was to be on vibrate in his pocket. I need to be able to get a hold of him in case of an emergency. I also let him know that I did try all the emergency contacts and no one was answering, and this is very unsafe. He didn't really seem to care. I can not wait to find a replacement.
By the time he got here my throat was very sore and I had troubles talking, which didn't help.
