Just something to share with you

I woke up to a lovely Thank you message from one of my DCP. It went on about how they enjoy the crafts the child returns home with, and the attention I provide for the child and the trust they have for me. It was just so nice to read and that no matter how my days go I know all my hard work is acknowledged and appreciated... I have had 2 new families for over a month now and they are BOTH great. They always say thank you when they pick up their child ( HOW MUCH those word means to me OMG), they read my newsletters, they answer my questions and they communicate everything to me and participate so well in my programs.

I've seen a lot of negativity on the forum lately, so I tought I would share this with all of you. Do not get discouraged, there are people out there that do appreciate our job and understand just how demanding it is. These people will find you and treat your like the rare pearl you are.

So on that note, HAPPY HALLOWEEN !!

Love hearing and being reminded that they are indeed awesome clients out there ~ like the media sometimes we need more stories of clients doing 'right' so to speak.

Whenever I read about the disrespectful, rude or down right cruel ones others are having to deal with I always do that mental gratitude for all the ways my clients show their value and respect in what I do.
Children construct their own intelligence. The adult must provide activities and context, but most of all must be able to listen. Children need proof that adults believe in them. Their three great desires are to be listened to, to understand, and to demonstrate that they are exactly what we expect."

Thank you Crafty for the morning cheer! It is amazing how a little gratitude makes us feel awesome. Yesterday one of my dcmom's brought me a green tea. It made my day and was so appreciated by the gesture. Have a Happy Hallowe'en everyone! Today I have a ladybug, an M and M candy, darth vader and an owl. Soooo cute.

Thanks for sharing...it is great to share "good news" stories Actually you are right, there is a lot of negative stuff shared here...but I am fairly sure it is just because we tend to vent about the bad things and leave the good things unsaid...perhaps we should change that! I actually have five awesome families right now who are all incredibly respectful and polite and appreciative for the most part...maybe sometimes we are almost afraid to share these things for fear of others thinking we are boasting?

I agree ! I certainly do not mind the negative and I actually think it's nice to have a place to vent. I mean we DO NOT have any colleagues who can relate to what we do in a day. We DO NOT have a break when we really need it and we can't take time off when we just need it. So forums like this are so very helpfull even if ti is negative comments sometimes he does us good to let it out.

I am actually having a BAD day with the kids LOL. Man 5h00pm will not be coming early enough today. I am so happy to have this forum to refer too and that message from the parents I got this morning sure helped get trough it. So share the good and the bad.

One of my dcmom's brought goody bags for all the children today! It was very unexpected but appreciated. My families are all really wonderful too, so I can't really complain, although there is the occasional quirk.
I have an owl, two tigers, a monarch butterfly and a monster today....so cute! Happy Halloween everyone!
