Hand Soap - Which kind do you use ?

Since opening my daycare my hands have become so rough and dry! Just wondering if anyone has any 'tricks of the trade' in the hand soap department?

My skin is really sensitive. Constant washing used to actually cause my skin to become so dry it would crack. I switched over to a cream soap, and made sure that the water I was using to wash with was warm, not hot. Worked like a charm.

Organic Green Beaver foaming hand soap ~ lavender rosemary scent

Followed by a good organic moisturizer from Neil's Yard regularly though out the day!

I'm constantly washing my hands and constantly applying hand cream. No matter what type of soap I use (usually Bath & Body works foaming liquid by the way) my hands are dry because I must wash them 1000 times a day!

I have eczema ... My hand looks like they are burnt and they hurt like HELL. I Still have not found the cure other than gloves and I HATE the gloves.

I have had the most success with just rubbing a big gob of vaseline into my hands at bedtime. After a few minutes it isn't so sticky anymore. Don't bother with gloves or anything and no real issues from greasiness.

Another trick that works is to wash your hands with soap and then squirt some hand lotion onto them and rub it in as if it was soap. Then I rinse only the palms of my hands quickly and dry off. The lotion stays on the backs which is what gets dry.

I have also suffered and tried all different soaps.

I think the cream hand soap is the best but still you will get chapped hands from washing so often.

I think I have found the solution. I heard lots of good things about hand lotion called Eucerin. I got the one for very dry hands and it is supposed to stay in your skin for 24 hours. I rub it on every night and I seem to be doing much better this year than other years. Only minimally dry hands even though I am not lotioning up during the day.

I would suggest cream soap and then Eucerin hand cream at night. The Eucerin is a little more expensive than some other brands but I think my bottle was $12 or something so not anything crazy and it works.

I've always had really dry skin, I love the Live Clean brand for hand soap! As for the lotion I love, love, love the Hemp lotion in the square ish shaped bottle!!! It's a little on the pricey side but works awesome and rinses nice (no greasy feeling hands) I get mine from hair salons!

A few tips...

Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.
