    Getting ready to re-open

I will be finishing Mat leave in January and am getting set to start up again! I was just making a little reminder to my clients about what to bring! Can anyone see something I've missed? Bit of mommy brain still lingering ha ha!! Thanks everyone!

ITEMS TO BE LEFT AT DAYCARE

    Diapers
    Wipes
    Any creams required
    Blanket
Any item required for nap...soother, Teddy bear etc.
Complete spare outfit...top, bottom and socks
Indoor shoes, slippers or socks with grips on the bottom

These items will be kept in your child's cubby to be used at daycare.

Weather appropriate outdoor wear must be available EVERYDAY!! This can be left here if you prefer or must be brought everyday, no exceptions. Past clients have left snow gear at daycare on Monday and took it home on Friday as they did not use it at home during the week.

    Winter requirements:

Snowsuit or snow pants and coat
    Hat that covers ears
    Waterproof mittens that stay on!*
    Warm boots
Any extra layer you would like your child to wear
    Balaclavas are recommended*
    Please do not bring scarves

The only thing I would add is Hat that covers ears and fastens under the chin.

Waterproof mittens that either have a string to pull through the coat or velcro at the wrists

Warm... waterproof! Boots. (Uggs are warm, but not daycare friendly)

I always suggest instead of scarves a neck warmer. I picked one up at walmart for cheap for my kids and they are fantastic! It's what the school recommended.

I'd also add in rain boots and rain pants on milder days if it's appropriate for your area. I know we have some days here that are too mild for a snow boot and ppl think shoes will do... not in my muddy farm backyard.

Other then those things to consider, it looks like a good list.

Do you supply milk for the under 2? Maybe add that if it applies to you.

Welcome back! must be excited to get going again.

Thanks a&b! I suggested balaclavas as I do not allow kids to wear scarves. I will add the waterproof, not just warm, boots...good idea! I have other lists for spring/ summer too! I am looking forward to getting back into things, a bit nervous having a new crew but should be fun!

I have all the children keep a pair of splashpants here year round for all the rainy days in the warmer weather and the days when we can get away without snowpants in cold weather but they just need that extra layer for warmth. They can move around so much easier in splashpants than snowpants.

Hope you have fun getting everything going again.

It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.
