Lots of snow here...yay! As prepared as I thought I was...still needed a last min. trip to the mall & grocery store (worth it, for the surprise last minute guests)...and yet, I'm still smiling and ready now to not move my butt of the house except for visiting and playing in the snow! Happy Christmas to all of my Daycare Forum family...see you in the New Year my friends
Children are great imitators.
So give them something great to imitate.

Children construct their own intelligence. The adult must provide activities and context, but most of all must be able to listen. Children need proof that adults believe in them. Their three great desires are to be listened to, to understand, and to demonstrate that they are exactly what we expect."

Oh, I'm jealous. Yay for those of you with lots of snow. We just have a touch of it and no more in the forecast but that's ok because my children are grown and my son is traveling here tomorrow so I want him to be safe.
I've been wrapping presents all weekend and a good friend and I are going shopping tonight to finish the last minute things we need for gifts and groceries. I have my menu all ready and will start cooking and chopping veggies and baking and making dips in the morning. Our tradition is to have tons of appetizers for Christmas Eve and the big turkey dinner on Christmas Day.
Most of you are just starting to make your traditions with your children. Believe me, they will remember the fun and togetherness all their lives, but not the presents. Don't forget the most important thing while you are so busy this holiday season, family.
