I'm in TO and haven't yet started, but have advertised in grocery stores and have had a few responses from here- daycarebear, it's really useful- I haven't tried Kijiji or Craigslist yet, but if I don't find a child by early April- which is when I plan to start, I'll check that out too,,, Good luck, I think you'll do fine- I hear the East end needs more child care- I"m central TO- so no competition here!
