    I usually ask the age of the child, ask why they are looking for care, are they looking for full time care or part-time care, what hours of care are they looking for, I ask if the child has any dietary requirements as rates all depend on these factors. I usually give a range for rates like $35-37 a day (varies depending on your area). I ask them if they can give references from past providers.

    I tell them the best way for them to see what I have to offer is if they come and see me, than I ask them if we can set up an interview time.

    To get an idea of what the going rates are in your area check out other providers on Kijiji.ca

    Your rates do seem high? You said you watched kids previously how did you base your rates previously? Or were you a nanny?
