    Pincer grasp

At what age should a child have developed this? I have one who is just turned 1 and he can't even feed himself a Cheerios. How can I help him learn this skill?

How early depends on how much practice they get with tiny things

Offer finger foods at meals and snacks and play supervised games where you pick up tiny things and drop them in a bin or bowl ... Pom poms, cotton balls, etc work well.

As they master add tweezers and other tools to step up a notch
Children construct their own intelligence. The adult must provide activities and context, but most of all must be able to listen. Children need proof that adults believe in them. Their three great desires are to be listened to, to understand, and to demonstrate that they are exactly what we expect."
