I wouldn't mind at all, but that is just me and all providers are a little diferent and preffer to run their program in certain ways that may not be the same as others. I wouldn't mind at all you paying for full time and taking four days, more money! I wouldn't mind at all picking up an extra friday everyonce in a while (always tell my parents, I want them to get the most for their money) if they are required to pay my minimum due each week I offer them that amount of days....the only catch is, they can't expect to spring a day last minute and me have room, I do need to know in advance (out of respect and for scheduling purposes). I would also ask, on those extra half days, that the parent would follow my daily schedule as far as, nap, lunch, preschool...the only thing I ask is the day not be interrupted, but half days are welcome as long as within respectful drop off and pick up times. Lastly, I always offer parents to take their kids on their days off if they pay and I have room, who am I to judge what they use my services for whether they are at work or running to the grocery store, or cleaning their home in peace or just taking a little time for themselves! (as long as not abusing the offer) Everyone deserves a little break every once in a while. I wouldnt have much of a problem with this circumstance at all, but that's just me!

Thanks for the replies, they give me some food for thought.
I really wanted to do the half day so that I still got some time with my son but if I have to drop him off for a full day I will. I plan to email her tonight and I will talk to her at drop-off time tomorrow if she has the time. I was just a little surprised by the attitude I caught about it, but she may have just been having a bad day....

very true nikki, heres to hoping she was just having a bad day! I would hope she wouldn't want to make you choose to either find other care over a half day, or force a Mother to lose time with their child...over a half day! either way, it would be silly on her part. Sure you will come to terms on this one! good luck!

A few tips...

Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.
Updates
We expect providers to keep their listing and available openings up-to-date. However, to prevent oversights, openings expire after 45 days.
