    Ugh...so they already started???

    It is ALWAYS better to NOT get started with a family then to have to terminate them later.

    Write up a letter. Put it in an envelope and hand it to them at the door. Then expect a phone call later.

    Trust me, once you hand over the letter it gets MUCH easier because it is all set in motion now and you can't stop it.

    Your first termination is the hardest. Everyone after that gets easier and easier.

    Yeah, I have to admit that it doesn't usually get better when things start out like this!! I would likely care for the children for two weeks, give 2 weeks notice at that point, and advertise immediately.
    If they are looking at childcare ads, then there is probably a reason for them too. And in any case, there are a lot of ways to advertise. I am sure you could arrange it so that it isn't likely that they would see.
