Dont piss me off this early on a Monday morning

My 6;30 AM arrival texts me at 6:21 to say that they will be dropping off at 7:30 WTF? I am already up and waiting for them to arrive and my next drop off doesnt come until 8am. Perfect start to the week. Note that this is the family that I will be giving notice to in a few weeks.

To top it off he doesnt show up until 7:50 and informs me that he is working from home so he decided to let dcg sleep in So, screw up my morning, then screw up my nap schedule too. Uggh.

    Happy Monday

I have to bite my tongue not say say anything but I am just keeping quiet every time they piss me off and they do it often because i dont want to resolve any issues. I want to have a long list for when I give them notice LOL.

Then parents act all surprised and shocked when they get their termination notice

    Glad you are replacing them!

Ugh - some people can be so rude ! If they were running late for anything else - a doctor's appointment, a meeting with a co-worker - you would expect (at the very least) that they would give the individual who is waiting a phone call/text explaining that they've been delayed, and that they're "on their way!" Why do some people consider a call 10 minutes before they're due to arrive notice - would this fly at their place of employment ? It makes you wonder if you should include a sentance in your contract stating that if parents are going to arrive earlier, or pick up later than 15 minutes from the agreed upon pick up/drop off times, they must provide a minimum of 12 hours notice. It would allow them a little wiggle room (I fully appreciate that babies only want to mess their diapers after you have them fully dressed and in their snowsuits) while still reminding them that it's important to be respectful of people's time.

I would tell them every time so that it isn't a shock when they get terminated. I always tell parents when I have an issue with anything just in case it comes to the point of termination...I don't want them to say, "You never said anything!"

normally I would say something but I dont want them to "fix" anything. I'm keeping them purely for selfish reasons so that I have no interruption in my pay because we have a costly vacation planned and losing income for a month would make life more difficult. i've already filled the spot so I just have bide my time for a few more weeks then I'll tell them. The main reason for terminating is that i am having a hard time with the early mornings and its affecting my ability to do my job well not to mention i'm exhausted by the time they go home.

Do they know that they're your first arrival? I don't think some daycare parents understand that when they are late, it means that I could have slept an hour later!
