    Very good point about cashing the cheques. I would do this to cover yourself. It sounds like you have been very professional they are just having a hard time dealing with it. Most parents I know(centre experience) don't really understand the contract they sign so when something comes up it is easier for them to blame the provider rather than take the time to grasp the whole picture.
