I have to agree. I did daycare with my youngest daughter at home in the daycare for 2 years and I hate to say that she made it so much harder.
I was scared how it would be without my own kids home and looking after only other people's children but it is a lot smoother.
My own daughter was the one who would often challenge my authority, complain about food or ask for other treats etc and would get the other kids riled up. lol

The days when my own kids are home from school now (ie PD/Pa days) are sooooooooo stressful in comparison to the days where they are not. Then I feel guilty for feeling that way

This totally made me cry! I just finished a super long post titled "i need mom advice" all about my son being the daycare kid driving me nuts!! I have been feeling like a failure but this totally makes me see that I am not alone!

Our youngest starts school in Sept. as well and I find it funny when people ask me if I am going to be returning to work (guess it's not work now). I too am looking forward to it. It is tough for sure having your own child in your own daycare. He is so ready for the challenge and independence of school.
    Children are great imitators.
So give them something great to imitate.

A couple of dayhome ladies and myself have been joking that someone should open a dayhome that only accepts child whose mom runs a dayhome. Some days our own children can be the toughest ones and they can not be sent home at the end of the day.

A few tips...

Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.
