If the child is in school half days then he is getting the "academics" he is supposed to be just as you would be doing these things with him if he was with you in the mornings. In the afternoon it is naptime/quiet time and that means alone time for older kids in care and while there might be something special offered it won't be the academics he is asking for. Kids in full day school are really only in school for half a day still and the other half a day includes a rest time and then more play.

After having the dad tell me I do nothing to teach the kids i have been actively paying attention to what I tell the kids and you know what???? I teach those kids A LOT!! Plus I have been giving them skating lessons once a week! BAH!! It took me a few days to feel better, but once I was out on the ice with these kids I realized I do a lot and now I feel much better!
