Thanks for all the support ladies. No I didn't get a deposit!!(another lesson learned). No I don't have anyone waiting so yes I am Down the money until I can fill the space. I have reposted all my ads and contacted a few people who enquiried when I was full, so fingers crossed it won't take too long. In the mean time I will enjoy a smaller group :-). Thanks again ladies

Ugh! Well, this is how we learn to perfect our contracts and policies, so sorry you learned the hard way as I did. I was way too nice and trusting when I started in this business and that's how I learned a LOT! Hope you find another family really quickly!

I borrowed a great idea from another caregiver. When I redid my contract I put two oval shapes beside each section. I ask parents to read the section and then initial in the shapes. So not just the bottom of each page as the original friend had done but I took it one step further and did each section. So for the Daycare closures section I would have proof they had read, understood how it would effect them and that they had signed their approval. Not that that is going to prevent them from feeling bad but usually when you can prove they signed without issue they often back down and give in to what they signed for.

A few tips...

If you visited or if you're using a childcare provider found on DaycareBear, do not hesitate to leave a review. This will most certainly help other parents!
Updates
We expect providers to keep their listing and available openings up-to-date. However, to prevent oversights, openings expire after 45 days.
