Lol, that was a couple years ago. I can laugh about it now I've always had many animals passing through the house as we did kitten rescue and rehab for a time and have had many pets over the years. Death is part of it so I've always been open with kids about that. But Bootsie....poor Bootsie....she was soooooo old and with these kids most of their little lives. I perhaps.....PERHAPS. ....underestimated their attachment to her. And my boyfriend at the time was from Shanghai and big into Buddhism and teaching me about it. So OF COURSE, that made me an expert. I really thought it would help. It SO did not.

You should have been there when I had to put one of our pet rats down....something I had to do myself at naptime. The kids didn't see that, but got the puddle of goo that was me afterwards.
