    Sleeping issue/no more morning nap

i have an 18 month old who has been here for 6 months. we've had napping issues from the start and it really has still not changed. we have a few good days then back to no afternoon nap, just crying.
while i was on holiday mom forced no morning nap so w could get a good pm nap n a regular basis. dcg does not always sleep well a night and even when she has a goodnight does not seem to be able to make it through the morning. she has been whining since 9am and she woke up at 8. she was like this all last week. she has bit of a cold but nothing major.

i'm at my wits ends to be honest. she was away for 2 days and naptime was bliss with no worry of a screamer. i adore this dcg and do not want to term but i have a new one starting in 2 weeks and i had hoped that naptime would have been fixed by now.

I dont know why se cant make it through the morning. she did it many times before when i didnt feel she needed it and then still didnt sleep in the pm and was never this whiny. She's never been a whiny one through the day even when tired so this makes me think something else is going on.

if she was my child i would be going for a thorough check up and asking if bloodwork was necesary to rule out any possible problems. we have adjusted diet, kept her on a schedule and nothing works. just when we think we have it fixed she goes back to no sleeping.

my big questions right now is why is she so tired all morning after sleeping all night. i realize some nights she doesnt sleep well but she hs been like this after getting 12 hours of sleep.

tried the short nap. she still wouldnt sleep. tried fresh air. she's clearly tired in the pm but sleeps a short time and is tired till mom comes. we've tried eveything. she's never been this whiny before in the morning which is what has me puzzled. a little cold should be causing her to fall asleep on the floor. mom said no more morning nap which i agree with because if she doesnt nap in the pm she is going to have to find another program for her especially since she clearly needs the pm nap. i ve beendoing this 17 years and i have to admit i've never had sleeping issues that i couldnt overcme. even had kids who didnt nap for 2 hours but they soon got into the routine of it and if the woke after an hour, they knew to lay quiet till i came for them.

I have a little girl here who went through a severely whiny phase. Her sleeping was okayish, not great. The whining and crying was just about constant and she'd already had many good days and seemed past her transition. It turned out that she had a double ear infection that no one detected. No fever, no grabbing at her ears....just incessant whining! Once she started meds, she was like a new child. Keep it in mind.....could be something like that maybe?
