It's only his first day...all of what you described sounds normal. It will take time for him to adjust and especially if he is only part-time. When I have a new child starting, I don't plan any activities for those first few days and just concentrate on getting the child integrated and getting them to feel secure. It sounds like at least he is napping...that is a huge bonus already! Hang in there!
