Oh my ! You guys are making me tired with the mere mention of 12 hour and 11 hour days. lol. I do 10 hours and that is plenty. I don't think you need longer hours.

I think there are slow periods and I notice a lot of parents are using grandparents now or else looking for PT because they have the grandparents helping at least some of the week. I think some people are retiring earlier and since people are having kids later it works out for them.

Bad for us but good for them

It sounds like you are doing everything you could possibly be doing. The right family will come along.
