I just got an email form my new client that starts tomorrow. They just moved out of town and will not becoming. There is more to the story, but I will not get into it. I do understand why they had to do the sudden move. I would have done the same in their position, but I was finally full, for the first time. this sucks. They were through one of my agencies. I am going to see if I can find a private client to fill the spot.

This really sucks, I could use the money. But i was unsure about this family from the start, so I think this is for the best.

So far today I got one phone call asking for me to work 6am to 7:30pm. My hours are 7 to 5. so I said no.
I got one email from someone looking for a babysitter who can work 6 to 5 Mon to Friday and on Saturdays. Again my hours are 7to 5 mon to friday only. And I am NOT a babysitter.

But at lest I am getting phone calls and emails.

Sorry about losing the client I lost one as well while off with my newborn, he won't be coming back. I'm ok with it though as it lightens my load with the new little one to care for at the same time. Hope you fill up soon!

Good luck filling the spaces but I'm glad you sidestepped all the bad families that obviously would have caused you problems. How rude of them not to give you more notice if they were supposed to start tomorrow, that's terrible!

I guess you didnt have a deposit because it was through an agency ??! Thats one thing that I didnt like about agencies, client can cancel anytime and no deposit to cover for the inconvenience

I hope you find someone new soon. I'm still waiting for my first client to sign, but there have been a few e-mails at least this week, and one interview . Maybe things are finally picking up!

I called my adviser about the email I got yesterday, stating they were not coming. She didn't even know that they had decided not to come. My adviser said she would get a hold of them and find out want is going on.
