What do you do with LO's during meal prep?

    Hi ladies,

Just wondering what you all do with the LO's (1year old's) during lunch time prep? Do you place them in a highchair to keep an eye on them? I'm going to soon have 3 () joining me!

Free play. My kitchen is right there, so that helps. I find, often, that some of them will follow me in watch. All my meals are prepped from scratch at that time as well, so I provide meals that are easy and fast to prepare. If something requires lots of chopping, then I'll prep those items ahead of time (often while they eat breakfast or that little bit of time before kids arrive) and just cook at prep time. All my kids are under 2yrs, and I've not had a problem thus far.

Hey! Congrats on the 3 new ones! Full house now?

Thanks for the advice! I guess I'm just a little anxious, wondering if I'll be able to handle it!! Yes, I've now got a full house! My other 2 dck's are older so they are good to play on the main level while I prep for lunch. I've got an open concept main level so I can pretty much see everywhere while I'm in the kitchen. I like the idea of preparing as much as possible ahead of time.

We eat upstairs so I put the little ones in their high chair and start them with their fruit or veggies first or if veggies are combined in my meal, I give them a few cheerios to occupy them.
No worries, you will be able to handle your new 3 buddles of joy

My kids are tidying up the play room at that time. I give each child a job and I get lunch ready.... It's all in the same area so I can see if someone is just playing instead if cleaning or has gone off task. As each child has finished their job they come to the table.

A few tips...

Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.
Updates
We expect providers to keep their listing and available openings up-to-date. However, to prevent oversights, openings expire after 45 days.
