    Let's be positive-Best thing about today...share yours

Just thought we could all use a dose of optimism with the crappy weather etc. Plus it can be very easy to get caught up in the problems of our jobs when there is so much positive as well.

I already shared this but my new boy went straight to sleep for his nap. Best gift ever!

    What's yours?

When my new 1 year old DCB who has been mouthing everything...finally 'got it'...he went to put a train in his mouth and before I could repeat (for the umpteenth time) "not in your mouth"...he paused, looked at me and just started rolling it along. Yes!
    Children are great imitators.
So give them something great to imitate.

My new dcg started today and she is really sweet and only cried a little bit before naptime when she was really tired. When I put her down for nap, she went straight to sleep and is still sleeping (it's been over 2 hours). Looks like I may have a winner here

All 6 of mine today played so well all morning that I did nothing to entertain them, except for craft time. We skipped circle and storytime, will do it after nap or not! It's awesome when they play amazing, I didn't need to be a referee today!

All my kids asked for seconds of my carrot soup!!! I think they were starving because they walked both ways to the OEYC this morning (plus their busy time when in there). Everybody fell sleep within minutes (even my son who is the one who usually has trouble to sleep) So far it has been a great day!

Hmmm..must be something in the air with all these great nappers!

My newish PT dcg finally got that I will not give in during naptime. It is not negotiable. You must rest/sleep/stay quiet and respectful of your friends rest time! Grandma and her autie watch her 2 days a week and she's their princess.

Today is her 1st day (I've had her for 5 weeks) that she hasn't made a peep. Woke up and rolled over and went back to sleep.

I was just thanking my lucky stars this morning as I typed a letter to my clients to tell them that my new family who were here only 3 weeks are leaving without a proper explanation. I'm blessed with 4 wonderful families and 4 great little ones in care right now. The children laughed and laughed all day even though we were stuck inside due to freezing weather but we made our butterfly crafts, danced and played and then they slept 2 1/2 hours which was great. We're going outside for the next two days because it's supposed to warm up a little - Thank Goodness! So even though there are some bad things happening in my life I'm trying to see the positive side.

Your new dcb is gone?! So sorry things didn't work out, but you are probably better off without them if that is how they operate! I hope you find a great new family soon!

Yes, I was blown away to say the least because I grilled these people for 3 interview meetings to be sure they were a fantastic family and I took them on to replace the family I had to terminate. I TOLD them I didn't want another family slipping by me like that and was honest with them from the first minute. There is NEVER a guarantee for us, sadly. We are at the mercy of the families no matter if we have been in business a month or 10 years. The best we can do is enforce our contracts and hope that we are working with the best families possible who are honest and value us. We deserve respect! We work hard and I think shaping the lives of little people is a very important job.

Today I'm grateful for sunshine. We spent the entire morning at the park then my little ones slept great this afternoon. That's a great day!
