Oo... They have to give me a full months notice on the first of any given month, OR pay for that month in lieu of notice.

Doesn't it sometimes seem like it takes more work to deal with the parents than with their children? :P

Good luck with that and I hope you never run into anybody who defies you and doesn't make the payment. I still have 2 weeks notice in my contract and only collect one week's payment as a deposit when I sign on a family. So this year I terminated clients and they wouldn't pay for the other week due. Then the new family I signed on left without paying for the week due.

Should I have taken them to court for under $200 each? Yes, probably and I would have won because it's a legal contract. But would I have had to take days off work and lose even more money? When families stiff us are they counting on things like this? If they owe you for a month that would be worth taking to court.

It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.

A few tips...

If you visited or if you're using a childcare provider found on DaycareBear, do not hesitate to leave a review. This will most certainly help other parents!
