How old is she? Do all the kids sit in booster seats at your daycare? If they all do, then I would get her to too. My daughter started doing that around 2 yrs old and I let her sit in a regular chair as she was big enough. I kept the booster handy and if she ever started to walk around during a meal or not "sit like a big girl" she went back in the booster for the meal. She quickly caught on and sat in the big chair.

She is turning 2 this month. All the kids (except my almost 5 year old) sit in booster seats including my daughter who is almost 3. Maybe it is the height of my table or chairs, but I have found that when they sit without the booster they make a ton of mess on the floor and often end up getting on and off etc. And I have found they are not at the right height to eat properly as their chins are resting on the table..LOL.

How long has it been since she moved from highchair to booster seat? Sometimes kids don't like the loss of security of the highchair nor the sudden eating companions around the table since she is used to being on the sidelines. You might find you need to go back to using a highchair and no standign to eat is not an option even if she starves - it won't last forever. Then gradually move the chair closer and closer to the table, then at the table but with no tray and then to booster seat. This could take a week or two to go through the process or a month or two. Mom needs to be doing the same at home too.

Playfelt, she is in a booster seat at home and for her age I use the tray with it, so it is pretty much like a high chair. However, it could be the other kids who are throwing her off...not sure! She was fine for the first week here...ate really well, happy, no problem. I don't remember any event happening that scared her or upset her while eating. Maybe I will try moving her chair with booster and tray into the kitchen (I generally stand on one side of the island while the kids eat on the other side if that makes any sense) so that she is right beside me. I am glad I am not alone in the rule "eat in your seat or don't eat". I have the same rule about bibs. If yuo don't want to wear your bib, you don't get to eat. They catch on pretty fast. I've never had a child hold out on me for an entire day though! Watching this one to make sure I am not going to be tearing my hair out as we go along...I will not put myself in a situation of months and months of stress again before terminating! I hope this will work out, but it will depend a lot on parents' reactions.
