Yep my crew do this too......... I call them the sockless club, once one does it they all do. I have radiant heat floors throughout my entire daycare and although it makes me clean my floors more (I don't want them going home with dirty feet) I let them and just throw their socks in their cubbies for when we go outside.........I pick my battles.......that's not one of them :-)

Although I might pick that battle if there was no heat in my floors, I wouldn't want little ones with cold feet

Once they pull them off they are told they can have them back at the end of the day. Thats it. I hate the way some parents eyeball me as incompetant when I return them home with a missing sock lolol I have siblings who wear slippers which works well

In my contract I ask for velcro running shoes for indoor use to be left at my house - will accept robeez for infants up to 18 months but after that I want shoes because I want them to learn to do them. When they get to school this will be the rule so they might as well learn to wear them.

It protects toes from getting stepped on, stubbed toes, toys hurting toes when dropped, no slipping, gives better traction and helps the youngest stand properly with a flat foot - no tippy toes.

Hahaha, this is a universal problem. I like the little elasticized shoes that keep the socks on and protect little feet a bit when they step on dinky cars and the sharp corners on little wooden blocks, etc. But I have to admit that I'm already going barefoot 24/7 and wearing my sandals. A lot of people prefer bare feet, babies included!
