I found with the newly potty trained that it was common for them to pee after lunch but then have to go about 20 minutes later. Same thing with the 20 mintues after drinking at snack and it used to annoy me cause we would have snack then go down to the basement playroom and seemed like we just got started and they had to go pee - which was upstairs so lots of stair running.

Once I changed the schedule to eat lunch earlier and then have everyone pee that was potty trained and then sit down to do stories, some kind of group quiet activity and then do diaper changes and put babies into bed while older kids took off shoes and put them on the shelf. Then go pee again for the older kids and most of them would actually pee both times or those that just tried the first time would pee the second time. Solved the waking to pee issue. Your child may jut need to have the chance to go twice after lunch before laying down.

I like the idea of having pullups accessible for him to take away any kind of attempt for interaction with me. I will do this, then ignore his calls to me. He will get it soon enough. I get the sense that his sleep here is a very deep sleep where his parents report he isn't the best sleeper at home.

Just some background- this kid is very sensitive to a lot of things, the way clothing fits, food, sounds etc so I know that it is partially a discomfort thing for him.

    Thanks!
I wouldn't mind helping him if he was falling asleep and waking in the middle of nap and needed my help. I thought you meant it was a stalling tactic only. He must have sensitive skin and you don't want to slow down his training. If he's uncomfortable when he's wet that's a GOOD thing! Even if it's in the middle of his nap. I would teach him he has to stay quiet and in his bed for the entire naptime but I wouldn't ignore him. Forgive me if I'm misunderstanding.
