I have Fido and text is free up to 2,500 messages per month. It's a plan that my hubby and I have. 2 phones unlimited incoming calls, unlimited calls between we both and voice message for $45. The only thing we do not have is caller ID. We'd have to pay extra for it. We have regular phones (no smart phones). Every time that we are renewing contract with them my husband negotiates better deals and more free features...

Incoming is probably free but since you are probably replying it must add up for you.

i suggest telling her that you are on a prepaid plan and you don't mind the texts when there is something sudden that comes up but that you just got your bill and didn't realize how quick it was adding up.

Ask her if she can send an email for anything that is not urgent and you can do likewise.

I never understand parents wanting to text so much during daycare hours because they should consider that they are disrupting you from caring for their little ones. Then they should think that if 5 parents did that all day long -= how much attention would their child actually get?

I had an interviewing couple ask me if I could text them updates during the day and pictures of their little one during the day. I told them that if I did that for all the parents then I wouldn't get much done because I have to focus on the kids during the day. I also told them it would get pricey since I was only allowed a certain amount of texts per month free. They were disappointed.

I do a newsletter with pictures every month of the kids at daycare so I didn't see why they needed "At the moment' pictures every day. It seemed unrealistic to me.

In any case - back to the topic...I would tell them that you are on a prepaid plan and that it was adding up and give a big smile so they don't feel bad.

A few tips...

If you visited or if you're using a childcare provider found on DaycareBear, do not hesitate to leave a review. This will most certainly help other parents!
