Ummm no ..... I live in the middle of nowhere and I didn't lock my doors and I even used to leave my keys in my car but I started locking my doors that day and about 2 months ago I started taking my keys out of my car since my house key is on that key ring .... So now it's all locked up and parents have to wait for the light but I have very respectful families at the moment and they would never attempt something like that.

    5:20??????????

No wonder the family is not with you any longer. I am guessing that was indicative of their general behaviour. Yeesh.

Ummm yup she was famous for giving the kid Tylenol and not telling me.... Then at pick up asking how he was and did his fever come back? I dont khow many times I said to her that she can't do that cause if something is brewing its going to affect all the kids ... Some people are so clueless there were many other issues

Why would arriving early not be treated the same way as arriving late for pick up? I charge parents $1 per minute for every minute they are earlier than their scheduled drop off time.

My family time before work is just as valuable as my family time after work and parents need to respect that.

I keep my door locked and don't open it until my first scheduled arrival.

If a parent arrives at my house early, they better park down the block because if I can see them, it makes me feel anxious and as if I have to open the door early because they are there...kwim?

Crayola, I'm so glad that family is gone. In my opinion 5am is the middle of the night and that's breaking and entering! I would have freaked out on that Mom!

I open at 7:30 officially but my clients start arriving at about 7:55 so I'm really lucky. I only ever had one client show up at 7am when they usually arrived at 9am and I heard the Dad & daughter snickering outside my door. I was still sleeping. They are gone!

You see the thing is I had agreed to take her kid at 6.... She was supposed to start work at 6 but she said she would notify them that she would be 15 mins late if I would agree to a 6 drop off then she had the audacity to show up at 5:40 (or maybe earlier but that's when I came out if my bedroom and realized they were there) .... I was furious! So I made her wait. And I never did her a favour again the rest if the time she was here.

Had turned on all my lights and her kids was running laps around my basement and squealing at the top of his lungs ..... I went half way down the stairs and said "oh your early I'm not ready yet." Then I looked at her kid and said "shhh everyone is still sleeping" and I went back up did what i had to do and sat on the couch with my tea till 6. I posted a note that day that the door would now be locked and when the outside light was on then they were welcome to come in. This particular family is no longer with me ; )
I think I would have asked her to leave. arriving at 5:20 is ridiculous, not to mentioning walking into your house knowing that you werent expecting them till 6.

So JennJubie, back to you! Has this happened again? Did you put your foot down?

It hasn't happened again yet. And if it does happen again, it'll be the same thing. I'll unlock my door at 7:30.
