    Daycare veggie garden

I want to plant a veggie garden this year out of buckets any ideas of what are the best plants to plant from seed. Never seeded a garden before.

I just started one with the kiddos this week. I used this website quite a bit before I started up - http://containergardening.about.com/

Also try searching "container gardening" in Pinterest, there is a lot of information there as well.

I did green beans, cucumbers, spaghetti squash (might be a stretch but I like a challenge ), potatoes and carrots (both require deeper containers - carrots are a minimum 8", potatoes minimum 18" I believe).

    Good luck!

my strawberries are in containers because they would overtake the garden and the kids love strawberries. Ds (he's 10) said I need to get the feed and eat thing he sees on tv to make them grow bigger.

My girls got a cherry tomato plant and have that on their deck and pick tomatoes for salads and love it. Producing a lot. That would be something they could watch and eat and it isn`t supposed to get overly large but did need staked.

I second Playfelt's tomato suggestion. They grow well and produce a lot of little tomatoes and they are really delicious. We did that last year and the kids loved watering and picking and eating the tomatoes

Here is our garden, the boat is broken so we will plant some flowers in them to spill down the sides, we still need to make climbers for each basket as it is a vertical garden.

We planted radishes, tomatoes, English cucumbers, bell peppers, + pumkin.

We also have sunflowers mamoth size ones for the corner beside the wall! Can't wait to post picks as it progresses!
