Agreed, we work for us, not them. I'm the same way, I'll try to accomodate if I'm asked.
I had a sick call this morning. Mom tells me her son has a fever... then says she'd prefer not to send him because my dd has a cough, and she's afraid that my dd might get him even more sick. I politely informed her that my dd's cough was due to allergies, not illness. Her son however, did need to stay home based solely on the fact that he had a fever.
