Does he have an older brother or maybe an extended bigger boy family member feeding him ideas? Boys don't usually seem to care much about this stuff unless they've suddenly found out they're not "cool" if they play with girls. Hopefully the parents will also be concerned and work with you to get to the root of the matter. Good luck!
