Angry UPDATE ON : Vent...OMG!! DayCare Mom... Are you Serious!!! Lol

UPDATE!!!kie so daycare mom just dropped off 3yr boy who we are currently trying to potty train.. He's been in underwear all weekend.. All You Need To Do.... Is ask him to go every 20-30 min.. Now keep in mind I usually have 4-5 kids every morning and 6 every afternoon.. We always go after snack and lunch and before we go outside.. But sometimes you forget or I get busy with changing the young ones diapers and this kid does/will not VOCOALIZE AT ALL!!!!

So right after mom left I put him in a pull up.. I can't have him peering or pooping on my carpets lol!! I will definitely be telling mom that he needs to be coming in a pull up until he's been dry for 1 month and can say I need to use the potty..

Seriously!!! I'm literally trying to potty train 3 kids right now..

I don't what she's thinking.. I've been asking him to go to the bathroom every twenty minutes.. Ummm hello it's a little different when your home with your two boys vs me being here with 5 kiddoes..

    Sheesh!!

    What was she thinking!!

Okie so mom picks up and I tell her we really weren't able to go on the potty today ( except her kid asked to go twice). Because I was having new windows put in and it got really hectic!!

I said we'd try harder on wed as that's when the installers will be finished!! And I also told her that with 4 little ones 2 being under 2 that I am not able to constantly remind her child to go to the bathroom every 20-30 minutes.. It's impossible.. He ca barley even get his pants down because ( I think being I don't want to say lazy but maybe being babied too much at home, cause he can when I tell him he needs too but a lot if the time he just stands there.. Anyways, back to the DCM.. She says well he does it at home.. And I'm just like.. Whatever.. I'm kinda getting tired of this mom.. And she's standing there like she's annoyed or something.. I told her he can't come in underwear until he can vocolsize he needs to go bathroom.. And she said well he can't vocalize until he's used to going to the bathroom on the toilet.. IS THIS TRUE!! I don't know my own kid is 22 Minths and not really interstec in the potty yet..

    Argh Vent over..

What she is thinking is that someone taking the kid to the bathroom every 20 minutes and him staying dry that way equates to him being potty trained. This is NOT potty trained. Potty trained is when kids tell YOU they need to go and actually make it to the toilet.

I would keep him in a pull up too and I would make mom bring some until he is dry at daycare for at least 2 weeks.

My policy states that a child will stay in pull ups until they are asking to use the toilet and have been successfully dry for several weeks.

I had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago. I simply explained it to the parent that if I took every child to the bathroom every 30 minutes, the only thing I'd be doing is taking kids to the bathroom. I have a general schedule I use and I share that with the parents. before snack, before outside, after outside, after lunch, after snack an hour before home time.

If he can't hold it for more then 20 min then the bladder is mature enough to potty train.

What is your daycare policy on potty training and wearing underwear? I would be clarifying step-by-step to this dcm. In my home, I decide when they are ready to wear underwear, not the parents. I need to see them staying dry, vocalizing they need to go, and being independent enough to actually go. They can wear underwear at home all weekend ( I actually encourage this for practise) but getting to that stage in group care takes a little more time.

A few tips...

Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.
