Wearing a pullup takes the power struggle out of it - if he wets he feels uncomfortable not you. He loves seeing your reaction to his wetting - he is thriving on the attention even if it is negative as in being put in time out. It means he got your undivided attention away from all the other kids. Making him wear a pullup calls his bluff and puts the ball back in his court as well as the parents who have to supply them or lose daycare immediately. At 2 it is an accident at 3 it is lazy. He knows when he is doing it and even if he made a trail on the way to the potty that would be an accident as in not going in time. Simply sitting and doing it is lazy and stubborn and needs to be dealt with accordingly.
