Frustration re: parents calling at last minute

Seriously. Especially when I get up and get ready when I could have slept in. Lol.
Out of my three DCK's, two are not coming today and both informed me at last minute. The first parent texted me 15 minutes before she was supposed to arrive. That frustrates me because I could have slept In another hour, but I was already up and ready to go when she informed me. Plus, I don't have a contract with her because she is a drop in, so I can't charge her, but I am contemplating putting everyone on contract, regardless of their need of care.

The other parent texted me after she was already supposed to be here, but her kid broke out in hives and she is taking him to the doctor. They are under contract so I will be getting paid for it. Still frustrated me because we were waiting for her kid To come so we can finish up breakfast and start our day.

I hate it when such short notice is given. It causes delays and early wakings for no reason! Do these parents think that whether their child comes or not wont impact me because I am at home with my own kids? Well duh, of course it impacts!

That's why i want everyone on contract from now on, regardless of how many/how few days they need care.

Even on contract things happen. Have you ever woken up and felt so-so but then half an hour before kids were supposed to come you throw up and decide nope I just can't do this. Happens with parents too in the sense of they get so busy going through the morning routine they chalk everything up to kid just still tired. But then when they get over breakfast and dressing and ready to go out the door they realize you know what child is not well better stay home.

The other option is that parent calls you at 6 am and wakes you up to let you know child isn't coming and you can sleep in. Would you prefer that? The parent calling just before supposed to arrive time thinks they are doing you a favour.
