    Statement of policy

Hi, I was wondering what a statement of policy is and what should be included in it. I have two contract, one is a financial one and the other one covers things like my hours, vacation time, what parents have to supply etc. Other daycare providers in my area tell me I should have a statement of policy. Any advice would help.

I don't know where you live or what you mean but I have a 2 page contract with all the legalities, prices, fees, etc. Then I have 6 pages of my policies and I like to have it all in one contract, nice and neat and concise. Some people have a policy handbook with lots and lots of pages. Is that what you mean?

What they may mean is a philosophy of care statement. That is more a page that gives an idea of how you conduct your day and what approach you take.
