Rhonda, keep trying, keep advertising, sometimes it's really slow in the summer but there always seem to be lots of people who need daycare in the fall. But they are on vacation now and put off finding a daycare until the end of the summer. I hope you get tons of calls in August!

Thanks Momof4. This is my first space in a few years. I've been advertising since January and haven't had any luck. In that time I've only had about 4 interviews. 1 family really liked my daycare and was ready to sign on but another caregiver offered them a space substantially lower than my rates so they backed out just before signing contract. It's been kind of depressing. I'm trying not to take it to heart, because I know good caregivers have been struggling to get full and many are giving in to lower prices or not getting paid for their holidays just to get in kids. Just frustrating when families don't even follow through with interviews they set up. It's almost like they don't have respect for the profession.

It is also hard because I'm on my last few years of full time home daycare. I already know this is my last baby I am going to accept. After this, I'm going to see my children to school and only accept before and after school care.

Keeping my fingers crossed you are right and the right family comes along soon. The space is available really soon!
