I woke up to a text from a mom whose children I occasionally care for. Her text said 'I wonder if you babysit in the evening? It's important'. I replied that I was busy tonight (which i am, i take a class on tuesdays) and she says 'it's for wednesday anyway. We got tickets to a concert but we won't be home til 11. I said I couldn't. I get my first child at 6.40 on Wednesday, there is no way I could function going to bed after 11 and being up at 6 the next day!!!

Then, A child's grandma dropped her off today instead of her dad. They came at 7.05 I open at 7.30. I hadn't opened my outer glass door yet and I guess they had knocked, so of course I didn't hear it until grandma started banging on my glass door. I opened the door and grandma said in an annoyed voice 'your door is locked'. I was honest a little taken by her but I said 'sorry I wasn't expecting you so early, her dad usually drops her off when I open at 7.30' She just said 'oh ok'. She dropped of the child and I said to grandma 'have a good day' and she just scowls and says 'I'll try, she (referring to the child) gave me the cold that she picked up from here'. (Side note, another child was sick and everyone got it including all of us and some kids parents too. you all know that despite our best efforts, germs always sneak in). all I could say was 'oh that sucks, ya we all got it too, my daughter had an ear infection too'. Some people are just not morning people LOL.
