    July just isn't my month

So in the beginning of July I lost my before and after school kid. He went to live with his mother. I found a great new full time family all set to start at the end of August. Then...... I got the email. The new families grandmother had just lost her job and now wants to stay home and watch the kid. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

I will be down to one kid in September if I don't find a replacement soon. I have had interviews (no shows, last min cancellations) and have 2 more interview coming up. But I am freaking out.

Just needed to vent a little.

I just lost a family too, this is his second week. The parents gave me their two weeks notice last night, they can't afford daycare, they really should of discuss that first before starting with me. It has taken me 1 year to be full now, I need to find another child. Parents think its easy to find a new client, its not easy. The day before, I had an email inquiry and replied, I had no space she was looking for mid August, I did reach back to her, she must think, I'm crazy. Good luck to you Blue Rose

I had turned away people too. I even suggested another provider in my area. I re emailed them stating that the spot had opened up. One then asked for an interview.

I wish you luck in filling your spot.

Yes, I am in the same boat. This month I received notice my f/t dcb is leaving in August and 2 p/t dcg's are reducing the number of days they come here as of Sept. My other f/t dcg will be going to p/t time in Oct while her mom is on mat leave.

It does leave you feeling vulnerable doesn't it
I have a referral interview coming up which looks promising. Good luck ladies in your interviews. I have a feeling things will pick up in September

Aw, big hugs Bluerose, that's the roughest part of the biz, isn't it? I've had a space open for 5 months and I filled it for the fall. Now I have 3 other people asking for a space, when it rains it pours. We have a psycho profession!!! Wishing you good luck.

best of luck! I just received notice for one child too. I knew it was coming, but was hopeful they would stay until fall so I could fill the space.
