    Registration fee and Deposit

Hi there, I am starting a multi age center, and am just wondering how common it is, or what are your thoughts on charging a deposit (to go towards last months fees) and a registration fee. A lot of centers in my area charge a registration fee that is non refundable. But the deposit is also non refundable. What would you do? Thanks for the advice!!

Hi, I'm currently running a home daycare business and have been for 6years. When I have new children enrolling and they want to take the spot after the tour I ask that the parents pay the deposit of $175.00 which is used for there first week of enrollment and is none refundable if they change there mind.

I charge a $50 registration fee that goes towards buying things specific to the child such as a change mat, bibs, and over time replacement of highchairs, playpens etc.

I also charge the equivalent of two weeks fees to go towards the last two weeks of care. All are non-refundable.
