    Chicken Pox!?!!

I've been feeling under the weather all week, since Monday. I was sneezing and had a sore throat at first and towards the end of the week was tired and achy. Thought I was getting a bad cold that is going around but sore throat is gone and not congested at all. This afternoon I noticed 2 bumps on my upper arm and they are raised like a mosquito bite, but have a bit of a shiny, blistery look.
Suddenly I remembered a friend saying last Friday that her adult brother had the chicken pox. Has anyone had any experience with chicken pox as an adult? I had them as a kid, but my own kids haven't had them or anyone else I know of in the last 10 years. I have 2 new kids starting Monday, one 12 months, so this is the worst timing!

What you are describing could also be shingles if you had chicken pox as a child. Exposure in adulthood to the virus again can reactivate it in yourself but it comes out as shingles. The fluid in the shingles blister is contagious and can cause chicken pox in the kids if they touch it. A clinic or doctor's visit would be a good idea to get a diagnosis and if you do it immediately after exposure there are medicines that can lesson the severity.

There is a shingles vaccine. Even if that is what you have now, you can get it again. You have to go to your dr. for a prescription. Hope you are all right.

My husband has had shingles and I don't think I have it, thank goodness! No more spots have appeared, but still not feeling well, so I think a trip to the doctor is in order.
    Thanks

Shingles can hurt like crazy!! I had them in the spring and they were not fun-- at all. I hope that is not way you have.
