I have a dcboy who has worn an amber teething necklace since he was 3 months old. He's 2 now and still wearing it, but he hardly has any teeth, it's taking forever for him too. I was really worried when he was new but the parents knotted it so it was just the right size and now that he's bigger it's just left loose without knots. I always make sure it's tucked inside his shirts. I suppose a child who was a really restless sleeper would be worrisome but this little boy barely moves during naptime. I will dose with Camillia at daycare under parental instructions but I won't dose a fever, so no other over the counter meds. A fever means a child has to go home. But since it's your own child you can do what you need to do to relieve her pain.
