VENT!!! new daycare kids

I love this! Thanks, Often at interview I nod my head a lot and then carry on with my way of doing things. Daycare is about learning to be part of a group. If your little prince/princess needs to have things done Mom and Dad's way then hire a NANNY.

I have raised my kids in an attached parenting way for the most part, but I am somewhat moderate I would say. I breastfed them all...some longer than others, wore them in carriers when needed, co-slept as needed as well. I have no problem taking on children from attached parenting homes in my daycare, but I do discuss with their parents about how to prepare them for daycare. I do explain that I will wear their baby as needed, especially during transition to comfort the child who is going though a huge change...it comforts the baby and helps the bond as well. But I also tell them that I need the baby to be able to go down at nap on their own as I cannot rock each child to sleep and I obviously can't nurse. I ask them, not to wean the child fully unless they want to, but to wean at naptime and not use nursing to get the child to sleep at naptime. So far I have not had issues following with this...as long as the parents prepare the child in the way I have suggested. Do you have a baby carrier? Can you try wearing the baby when she is crying to help ease her through transition?
On a side note, I feel it's important to be up-front with parents. They have a right to know if you are going to leave their child to cry-it-out at naptime or not...I do believe it is up to parents to decide if this is the right daycare for their child and to do that they need to know how you will care for their child and take it or leave it.
