Strange Daycare Request

I have had a person(male, I think) email me about my home daycare. He is looking for 2 spots and I told him I only have one. He then messaged me back to let me know he now only needed one spot because he has found care for his other child.

The family is currently in Mexico and coming back home to Canada and he wants to start his child with me. He indicated that he can't call me because he would have to get a calling card and they are busy getting ready to move. I have asked twice what date he would need care for and he hasn't answered. He just asks me more questions. My gut feeling is not good. Has anyone else been contacted by someone like this? I have an email. I don't want to turn away a legitimate request however I have never had this before and am feeling a little uncomfortable. He did indicate the other child's name in his email.

His emails have been over a couple of weeks, although when I answered this morning he has emailed back again today.
