Starting to feel at home...
Considering Terminating My First Child *gulp*
I have a dcb whom is generally just before school (8 years old), however, I have him full days on PA days, holidays ect. But with taking him, there comes so many problems. This is where I rant.
1. He has a HUGE attitude. He is constantly back talking, contradicting me, being sarcastic, lying ect. When he is around, the entire dynamic of the daycare changes. And it has nothing to do with age. I have other older children (8, 6 ect) but they are fine.
2. I do not charge for days that the children stay home sick, for one HUGE reason. I would rather lose the daily fee then having my other daycare kids, my own 2 young boys as well as myself (being pregnant) getting sick. Most parents are very respectful of this and only keep their child home when they are indeed sick. However, this child is 'sick' once a week. I asked him about his last 'sick' day and he told me that he was not sick and that his Nanna was taking care of him.
3. I am due to have a C-section at the end of April and I am worried about the un need stress that he is going to add to the daycare.
But my real problem is coming from a business perspective. Where I live, daycare is very competitive and I find that the highest demand is for before and after school. However, this childs mom has just informed me that she is pregnant and will be pulling him come the summer, but he will be rejoining us for before school come September. Do I hold onto him and deal with him, hoping that I get the baby full time in a year from now. Or do I give him the boot?
All in all, the parents are fine. They pay on time, they do not complain ect. My hubby says, drop the child...but I am thinking more long term. I mean, in reality I need to only deal with him a couple hours in the morning before school....but darn, those morning are BRUTAL.
