If I can find a child who only needs summer care, than the teacher family gets the summer off free. If I can't find a replacement, the teacher family can either send them or not. If they don't send them they pay my holiday fee, which is $200 less for the month ($10 less a day). A bit cheaper for them and a bit less work for me during the summer.
**In some cases, teachers can choose to get paid over the 12 months. So for some, their financial situation does not change over the summer so why should yours?
