I have a teacher in my group. I charge $25 a day instead of $30 on days the kids are away on holidays (providing 1 month's notice was given) - and I just started give the reduction it used to be full rate no matter what. When it comes to Christmas break and spring break I usually only have my teacher's girl 1-2 days if at all. During summer I usually try to full the spot with someone else so she doesn't have to pay me at all. Most times I have found someone who is looking for full-time July and August only so it hasn't been an issue. We have agreed that if for some reason I cannot fill the spot that they will continue to pay like they normally would.
I would make sure and look after yourself in this situation. If you can accommodate them financially then fine otherwise they should be expected to pay just like everyone else. They are paying for the spot and the spot runs all year.
