    Confessions of a Daycare Provider

Just thought it would be fun to talk about some of the things we do to stay sane!

    Confession #1
I have sent home art work my child has done to a family who continually inquired about what art their child is doing. Their child was 14 mos old and had zero interest! So they got a few things my 18 mos old did and were none the wiser.

Confession: The kids were all acting up and being very naughty last Friday. I put them all to nap 45 min earlier than usual and they all slept until regular naptime waking. ( So I guess they all needed the extra sleep) shhhh...I didn't tell the parents that they slept 45 min longer.

When parents recently inquired about back up care I was sure to find available care with providers I know I won't loose them to e.g. their 4 yo in a house with babies

It's my handful's last day today. Normally I wake her up after 30-60 mins at the parents request....NOT TODAY!!! And I won't be telling them....but she's 4 so she will, oh well though!

Cranky day I leave them sleep that extra 30 mins, but I don't tell parents either. Lol

I let my little ones sleep longer too... Especially if under 3 years old.

My plan didn't work out....2 of the little ones pooped in their diapers and they won't sleep after that and my 4 year old was awake and the 2 little ones woke the 2.5 year old. So naptime was shortened by about half an hour. Oh well...TGIF! lol

I have an 18 month dcg who sometimes could care less about the craft I have going. Mom gets upset if she sees everyone else go home with their craft, so lately I have been doing it if she refuses though she is getting better of late. Mom is happy, dcg is happy she didn't have to do craft and I'm the one who's art work passes for a toddlers LOL

A few tips...

Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.
Updates
We expect providers to keep their listing and available openings up-to-date. However, to prevent oversights, openings expire after 45 days.
