    Cute link!!

My crew love melting down crayons I hate the peeling of crayons though so I took a couple boxes and peeled them all in one sitting one day so I have a stash ready to be broken and melted haha.

Read the post....no need to cut the crayons, the kids will love breaking them and putting in their muffin tray!

What is the prep for melting crayons? Sounds like a good idea. Thank you for this link. Something to do tonight.

Peeling the crayons reminds me of eating lobster...sometimes you crack it and voila it's so easy...but sometimes it takes time...my nails are sooo done
Cathy: Prep is real easy actually...just peel them (My children helped a lot with this...my 3 year olds) (the ones I did myself I found a good technique: Crack in half, use sharp knife to score a vertical line and then it comes right off).
Oh and I also used the disposable aluminum heart molds..Dollarama has them 24 For $1 (worried my future baking in my other molds may take on a crayon taste)

All I do is peel the wrapper off the crayons. I let the kids choose their colours and they break them in half to fit in the muffin tray. I like to fill the tray almost all the way up to give a strong crayon when melted down.

I have a muffin tray just for this so I don't bother with waxing paper. Melt in the oven (whatever temp for however long until melted) than take out and let cool and harden. They pop right out of the muffin tray.

They love colouring with them and seeing the random colours. We also made heart shaped ones and put holes in them to make necklaces one year.

Dream, I do the same technique!! I don't cut in half though. I just take a sharp knife and cut a strip in the paper and it comes off beautifully! I used to peel them with my hands and my nails would be coloured! lol
