That's awful, i feel for you. Sorry these kids are torturing you . I agree with Mimi and the others who said they wouldn't let the kids return. This is just my opinion so bear with me, but knowing that their grandma can care for them temporarily, I would term immediately and return their deposit, in lieu of notice. I have that clause in my contract. Knowing that those kids behave in that manner is tough enough on you, but for it to affect the other kids (ie keeping them awake at nap) is worse. Out the door with them.

Starting to feel at home...
Sounds horrible. That makes for a very long day. I have a clause in my contract for extreme bad behaviors (aggressiveness, or like what you describe) that is a reason for me to terminate without notice. If this takes away from you being able to take care of others or providing the other kids and yourself a happy surrounding, I would terminate right away. Good luck! I really hope things get better soon.

those kids would be spending an awful lot of time in their beds for the next two weeks

they're gone!!!
I stuck it out the last 2 weeks...I needed the $, as this is HALF my income gone, and I stupidly didn't take a deposit, so I had nothing to offer them as an incentive to go. Will never make that mistake again either!
I don't think it's sunk in yet, and probably won't until Sunday night when I realize that they're not coming back the following morning. Or maybe my ears are just still ringing from today's massive tantrums that I can't think straight! Probably that, lol.
The last 2 weeks have been absolutely brutal, and I would have dearly loved to have said something today at pickup, since the parents are completely refusing to acknowledge that their parenting must change, and frankly, improve, if they want their next daycare to stick with them. It is obvious that they are simply blaming me and think I'm "overwhelmed," and they don't understand that there are actual behaviour issues that need to be addressed, particularly with their older daughter starting school in the fall.
But wait-it's not my problem anymore! Sooo relieved! Thanks everyone for their words of encouragement and advice! Hopefully I can find some new clients that are a good fit.
